ABOUT

Ana Filogonio,

is a Brazilian mezzo soprano who settled in Scotland in 2001. She started to sing in a choir when she was 13 years old. Since then Ana has sung in different choirs in her native city Belo Horizonte- Brazil, and choirs in Edinburgh.

Ana used to work as a care worker at Harlawhill Day Care Centre in Prestonpans - East Lothian - Scotland where she not only looked after the clients but also entertained them with her beautiful voice and charisma. With their support and encouragement, Ana recorded a CD called JUST to raise money for the Harlawhill Day Centre.

In 2013,Ana was one of the finalists of Edinburgh Has Talent, which gave her the opportunity to perform to a full house of the Festival Theatre in Edinburgh.

In June 2014 and 2015, Ana was invited to perform on " 3 HARBOURS Arts Festival" - The largest and most diverse arts festival in East Lothian - , entertaining the audience with a selection of songs from operas and musicals as well as some Scottish and Brazilian favourites.

Ana sang, in 2015, at the official launch of the Scottish Diaspora Tapestry in Prestonpans and in St Mary’s Cathedral in Edinburgh.

In 2017, Ana Filogonio was semifinalist of a talent contest OPEN MIC UK  NW England and Scotland.
